Spring proves to be dry across the region
SPRING failed to make a difference to dam levels across the district, adding to an already dry year.
September was the first month since January where the long-term average rainfall was exceeded.
September saw a total of 87.6mm of rain fall over Cobden, just 0.6mm above the long-term average of 87mm.
The highest daily rainfall for the month was 11.6mm which fell on September 2.
Locals watching the sky and hoping for rain were again left disappointed in October.
Just 58.4mm of rain fell over Cobden and surrounds for the month, well below the long-term rainfall of 79.1mm.
Almost half of the monthly rainfall was recorded on October 18, which saw 26.2mm of rain fall over 24 hours.
November was dry again, with just 33.2mm of rain falling for the month.
The monthly figure was below the long-term average of 63mm.
The highest daily rainfall recorded for November was 9.2mm which was on November 27.
For Spring, a total of 209mm hit the ground over Cobden and surrounds. Up until the end of November a total of 509.5mm or rain has fallen.
