Losing the toss and being sent in to bat, the Storm managed 8/198 off their 50 overs and had the Lakers at 1/13 in the fourth over when play was called-off.
Best of the batters for the Storm were captain Simon Harkness who was caught on 61, which included six boundaries and six.
He was well supported on the board by team-mate Sam Lenehan who contributed 52 which included five boundaries and a six.
Opener Thomas Hunt was also effective, making 25 from 49 deliveries.
