LAST Saturday, members played stroke for the first round of the Timboon Championships.

In the daily competition division, one was won by Daryle Beames with nett 67 from Tori Ziegelaar with nett 70.

In division two Mark McKenzie took out the win with net 67 from Craig Saunders with net 70.

Nearest the pins were Tori Ziegelaar, 5th hole; Kevin Plozza, 7th hole; Phillip Brown, 10th hole; and Neil Gowland 14th hole.

The Nutrien ball on the eleventh was won by Wes Hollick.

Standings after the first round are:
A grade:

A. Gillim 78, P. Cashmore 78 and N. Gowland 80.

B grade:
S. Plozza 83, T. Ziegelaar 85, R. Edge 88.
C grade: D. Beames 83, M. McKenzie 87, C. Saunders 88.
D grade: A. Horwood 97, J Brittain 97, B Ward 98.

Next weekend will see round two played this Saturday and round three and the monthly medal Sunday.

WEDNESDAY GOLF

Last Wednesday saw a good turnout for the Gentsomes event.

Drawn partners in teams of four players, with results so close they saw a countback between three teams, all with a score of 87 points.

The winning team was Biddy Weel, Andrea Thompson, Steph Delaney and Nelle Cashmore.

Runners up were Linda McKenzie, Dawn Wallace, Maureen Clements and Sophie Bowker.

Nearest the Pins on the 10th and 14th were both won by Nelle Cashmore.

The ladies also hosted 68 players last Friday (Nov 3) for our Texas Ambrose tournament.

The event was won by a Hamilton team of Robyn Holcombe, Jo Forsyth, Enid Smith and Kerryn Price with a score of nett 62.625.

Runners up were Barb Hill, Gwenda Malseed, Cheryl Carroll and Robyn McLeod from East Framlingham with nett 63.5.

Nearest the pin winners were all locals: 5th hole Lynne Newton (Timboon), 7th hole Karen Matheson (Peterborough), 10th hole Alison Walsh (Timboon) and 14th hole Debbie Norton (Timboon) The day was very successful thanks to the sterling efforts of the many club members who made it happen.
