Strong field for Astrid Holm Cup
TWENTY-FIVE teams entered last Friday’s Astrid Holm Cup at the Camperdown Golf Club.
Around 100 players enjoyed the 31st annual cup, with teams travelling from clubs as far as Apollo Bay, Ballarat, Hamilton, Riverview and Willaura.
Astrid Holm, a founding member of the club, was Camperdown’s ladies’ club champion a record 15 times and club secretary for 42 years.
The format for the day was 4BBB with two scores to count on each hole.
The winners with 91 points was a team from Warrnambool – Bernadette Pickett, Michelle Miller, Veronica Madden and Cecilia Campbell-Narik.
The runners-up, on 90 points, were Maree Finlay, Jenn Downey and Chris Farmer from Camperdown, with Larelle McInnes from Willaura.
The best nine-out went to Doreen Horan, Gayle Gill, Gabby Gill and Leah Cheeseman with 48 points.
The best nine in, again with 48 points, was Donna Conheady, Terri Sinnott, Ros Brauer and their guest, Sue Couch from Cobden.
Nearest the pins: 2nd Faith Morrissy (Apollo Bay), 9th Heather Finlayson (Timboon), 15th Ros Brauer (Camperdown), 17th Pam Clark (Port Fairy) and third shot to the 13th Deb Ferrari (Cobden).
