Strong performance
PERFORMANCE on the Warrnambool Line was again among the best on the V/Line network as patronage surged during AFL finals.
In September, the Warrnambool Line recorded a 99.7 per cent reliability result, with the near-perfect month exceeding the 96 per cent monthly reliability target for the 11th consecutive month.
The Warrnambool Line was also the best performing line across the V/Line network for punctuality in September.
The result of 95.6 per cent of services arriving at their destination on time exceeded the 92 per cent monthly punctuality target.
A V/Line spokesperson said the line had continued on the positive trend since the modern VLocity trains were added to the line.
“The Warrnambool Line has again exceeded monthly reliability and punctuality targets in September, making it the seventh consecutive month the line has achieved this result,” the spokesperson said.
“September was a busy month on the Warrnambool Line as more than 52,000 passengers took advantage of cheaper fares to visit family and friends and attend major events in Melbourne, such as the AFL finals series.”
Patronage on the Warrnambool Line in September was a five per cent increase on patronage numbers from September 2024.
