THE Funakoshi Karate dojo was well represented at round two of the National All Styles karate championships in Melbourne.

A highlight of the day was the final round, the ladies’ black belt continuous sparring, which saw Jill Cole (sensei) and Tayla Ireland go into a tie-breaker over time.

Male black belt kata 3rd place Tobi Cole.

Ladies advanced kata 2nd place Tracey Scott Pattison.

Ladies novice kumite 2nd place Tracey Scott Pattison.

Ladies 16 years-17 years 5th kyu black belt kumite 2nd place Chelsea Wright.

Ladies 15-17 years continuous sparring 2nd place Chelsea Wright.

Ladies super vets 51 years plus kumite 1st place Jill Cole.

Ladies 40 years plus continuous sparring 1st place Jill Cole.

Super vets 51 years plus mixed division kata 3rd place Jill Cole.

Ladies open black belt continuous sparring 2nd place Jill Cole.

Successfully awarded Australian Referees Board level three accreditation Peter Conroy (sensei).
