Strong round from Coxon
LYNETE Coxon finished with an excellent score of 39 points to win the women’s competition at Terang Golf Club last Thursday.
Coxon won on countback from runner-up Janet Saunders on 39.
Balls down the line went to Jenny Meade with 37 points.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Judy Carmody and ninth from off the green was Jo Arundell.
The winner of the stableford 18-hole event was Sam Melican with 41 points, followed by Anthony Kavanagh 39 on a countback from Fred Beasley.
Balls down the line: Fred Beasley 39 and Bernie Kenna 35 on countback from Danny Kenna and Terry Coolahan.
Nearest the pin on the 11th was Bernie Kenna.
The winner of the all-day nine hole event was Pat Bourke with 17 points.
Last Thursday’s nine-hole competition was won by Jo Arundell on 21 points, on countback from runner-up Linda Kenna.
Nearest the pin on the 18th from off the green was Janet Saunders.
Twenty-one players competed in the 18-hole all day stableford.
This was won by Luke Trebble with 44 points, followed by Anthony Kavanagh on 42.
Balls down the line: Stephen Arundell 39, Phil Beasley 39, Max Kavanagh 38 and George Beasley 38.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Luke Trebble, 8th Phil Beasley and 11th George Beasley.
This week will be an all day 18-hole stableford and a nine hole all-day stableford.

The first round of the Peter Kenna Trophy was played at the Terang course last weekend.
The trophy is a handicapped event, played annually across three rounds in November with a different format for each week.
The first round (November 1) was stroke, second (November 8) will be part and the third and final round (November 22) will be stableford.
A quality field of 40 players took to the course last Saturday.
The monthly medal winner was Tyler Beasley on 68 nett, 76 gross.
Runner-up was Stephen Arundell 71/78.
B grade was won by Chris Coolahan 71/89 followed by Daryl Johnstone 74/93.
Down the line: Nick Marshall (14) 72/86, Paul Farnes (13) 73/96, Mick Scanlon (15) 73/88, Hugh Kenna (2) 74/94 and Jason Karney (23) 74/97.

Putting was won by Stephen Vaughan with 28 putts.
Leon Beasley won Friday’s twilight golf on 21 points, followed by Max Kavanagh 18 on countback.
On Friday there will be a twilight nine hole golf competition from 2.30pm (compose course – holes 1, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 10, 11 and 7).
Saturday will be round two of the Peter Kenna Trophy (par) and an 18 hole stableford will start at 10.30am Sunday.
