THE Timboon Sports Stadium has been enjoying a new lease on life with a host of new state-of-the-art machines and group classes.
Starting last month, Regional Institute of Sport (RIS) started running group classes for all ages and abilities within the community at the stadium.
RIS director Stuart Canavan was pleased with how the community has supported the initiative to date.
“We’re two weeks in and it’s going well which is great,” he said.
“We’ve got a variety of classes and they have all been fully booked.”
Classes include:
• Strong foundations;
• HIIT and spin;
• Strong women;
• Sixty plus women;
• Teen athletic performance;
• Rehab classes; and
• One-on-one sessions.
Mr Canavan encoruaged the community to check out the new look facilities at the Timboon Sports Stadium.
“What they have available at the stadium is now world class and we’re offering evidence based training to increase performance,” he said.
“It’s a great looking facility now.
“With the RIS our whole missing is to bring a variety of health based services in regional areas.
“Every age and every ability is catered for.”
