Strong win for Bloods
TERANG Mortlake’s senior footballers came away from their trip to Port Fairy with a 14.10.94 to 9.12.66 win.

A dominant first quarter saw the Bloods pile on eight goals to one to set up the victory.
“Going up there (Port Fairy) is always a challenge, it was really pleasing to come away with such a strong win,” a pleased Terang Mortlake coach Lewy Taylor said.
“We were dominant in the first half, we played the team first footy style we have been aiming to play.”
Taylor’s former Sydney Swans teammate Colin O'Riordan made his debut for the Bloods and put in a best on ground performance.
“Colin hasn’t played for a couple of years but stepped right back in like he’d never stopped, he did things you don't see at our level of footy,” Taylor said.
“His run and carry was fantastic, we’re hoping to have him available a fair bit in the second half of the year which is exciting.”
Brodie O'Donohue also made his senior debut for Terang Mortlake.
“Brodie has been playing well in the reserves all year and has been on the radar to play seniors for a while.
“He played a good game and certainly didn’t look out of place,” Taylor said.
Zeke Reeves kicked four goals for the Bloods with Xavier Vickers kicking three, Taylor impressed with Vickers’ game.
“Xavier has now put together three to four weeks of really strong football, it’s great to see him hitting the scoreboard the last two games as well,” Taylor said.
This week Terang Mortlake will host the undefeated North Warrnambool at Mortlake’s DC Farran Oval.
“North Warrnambool is clearly the benchmark of the competition at the moment, the boys are really excited for the challenge.”
Port Fairy kicked away to an early four goal lead in the reserves and maintained that margin, scoring an 8.6.54 to 5.3.33 win.
Ryan Tanner kicked three goals for Terang Mortlake and Daniel Kenna two, Kenna named as best for the Bloods with Will Berryman and Matty Arundell.
Port Fairy were too strong in the under 18s, winning 14.14.98 to 7.7.49.
Oscar Ritchie and Darcy Abbott kicked two goals each, while Max Heffernan, Henry Smith, and Eitan Brooks were the best for the under 18 Bloods.
Terang Mortlake had a thumping win in the under 16s, 28.18.186 to 1.0.6.
Vice-captain Mason Barr bagged 12 goals, Tyler Ackerly kicked four with two each to Jordie Bailey, Jack Farrell, Jobe Baker, Tayte McMaster and Jesse Fowler.
Barr was unsurprisingly named as best for the Bloods along with Jordie Bailey and Leo Beasley.
Port Fairy had a 30 point win in the under 14 game, 4.9.33 to 0.3.3.
Liam Kenna, Harry Membrey and Rupert Vaughan were the best players for Terang Mortlake.
Port Fairy took the points in the under 12s, 5.3.33 to 1.0.6.
Braxton Sachs kicked the lone goal for Terang Mortlake, with Connor Jewell, Charlie Simpson and Jackson Irving best for the junior Bloods.
In Open netball, Port Fairy scored a 57-35 win.
Goal shooter Lyla Grundy, in her Open netball debut, shot 21 goals and was best for Terang Mortlake.
Goal attack Jacqui Arundell scored 14 goals.
Ava Grundy and Johanna Glennen were also named in the best for Terang Mortlake.
The division one netball saw a Port Fairy win, 35-21.
Leah Perkins, Isabelle Kenna and Bailee Overweter were best for Terang Mortlake, with Leah Perkins scoring 18 goals.
Port Fairy got the points in the division two game with a 31-20 win.
Holly Fowler led the scorers for Terang Mortlake with 13 goals, best for the Bloods were Deeanna Bell, Ashleigh Hunger and Lucy Finnerty.
Port Fairy also won the division three game, 32-17.
Goal attack Ava Nolan scored nine goals for the Bloods, with Ruby Lang, Tess McKenzie and Lydia Harris named best players.
It was a big 61-21 win to Terang Mortlake in the 17 and under netball.
Lyla Grundy top scored with 29 goals in a best on court performance, while Lara Clarke scored 25 goals.
Charli Dillon and Pippa Barr were named alongside Grundy as best for the Bloods.
The 17 and under reserves netball saw a 31-8 win for Terang Mortlake.
Maddison Wallace, Sema Meric and Molly Kavenagh were best for the Bloods, Isla Primrose shooting 22 goals.
Terang Mortlake took out the 15 and under netball 33-15.
Madelyn Clarke was best for Terang Mortlake, top scoring with 23 goals.
Sadie Baker scored 10 goals, with Lily Guthrie and Mckenzie Dillon also among the best players.
Terang Mortlake had a 33-13 win in the 15 and under reserves.
Chloe Bouchier, Mia Baker and Lucia Clarke were best for the Bloods, Chloe Bouchier top scoring with 22 goals.
Trailing at every change in the 13 and under game, Terang Mortlake scored five goals to one in the last quarter to record a 15-12 win.
Poppy Moloney top scored for Terang Mortlake with 11 goals and was named best player along with Elise Jewell and Daisy Dillon.
Port Fairy won the 13 and under reserves 23-8.
Charli Jones scored eight goals and was best for Terang Mortlake with Taleah Dower and Isabella Robertson.
