Strong win for Storm
WINNING the toss and electing to bat first against Woorndoo last weekend, Storm’s division one cricketers showed plenty of talent with the bat.
Opening Thomas Hunt contributed an impressive 96 runs from 155 balls before being run out.
His innings included six boundaries.
He was well supported on the board by captain Matthew Love (63) and Ryan O’Keefe (unbeaten on 47), with the Storm finishing the day on 3/233.
In reply, Woorndoo were contained to 6/145 from their 50 overs, with opener Tyler Mungean the only real threat to the Storm, reaching 64 before being caught by Hunt off the bowling of Paul Vogels.
Best of the bowlers for the Storm were Sam Lenehan 2/6 from two overs, Jake Robbins 1/18 off seven, Paul Vogels 1/31 and Josh Dunne 1/10.
The round two win sees the side now sitting fourth on the South West division one ladder.
This weekend will see them at home to Pomborneit.
