Students glam up for MRC Ball
CAMPERDOWN’S Theatre Royal was filled with dancing couples and their proud families as Mercy Regional College (MRC) hosted their presentation ball last Friday.

The night saw 42 Year 11 students showing off their finest outfits as they danced with their parents and significant people.
Five partner dances – including The Pride of Erin, The Mercy Three Step and Circular Barn Dance – were performed, with lessons from Tess and Shane Lourey paying off.
Students were presented through a large ornate archway, lit up in soft pink and green and decorated alongside floral arrangements.
Presentation ball coordinator Rose Henry said she was very pleased with the evening.
“It was a beautiful night and I hope our students enjoyed their moment in the spotlight,” she said.
“I would like to thank the Lourey family, our emcees Adam Dowie and Kerryn Cain and the team of staff, parents, students and community members who contributed to the setup.

“We couldn’t have done it without their amazing efforts.
“It was great to see the theatre full of families and friends and the livestream proved popular once again.”
MRC principal Sharon Gillett said she was equally impressed with the fruits of the student’s efforts from their dance lessons in the lead-up to the big night.
“I congratulate our young people for their efforts over many weeks to prepare for the night, the hard work has paid off with a fantastic result,” she said.
“The presentation ball is a time-honoured Mercy tradition and it is always a highlight of the year.
“We look forward to celebrating the next group of students in 2027.”
