SMALL change helped make a big difference to the lives of Victorian children, with the Camperdown Good Friday Appeal raising more than $26,000.

Camperdown appeal co-ordinator Kellie Kempton said she was thrilled with the final result of $26,393.70 up on last year’s totalof $25,305.

“We had a good day,” she said.

“We were low on collectors on the day. The families we did have did big areas of Camperdown.

“We were able to cover about three quarters of Camperdown.”

Ms Kempton said the wider community was supportive of the appeal, with volunteers helping to collect money from homes across Camperdown and surrounds.

“The Hampden Social Club donated $2800, Music by the Lake raised $6150 and door knockers raised $4378,” she said.

“The CFA trucks brought in $5214.25, Camperdown Golf Club donated $850 and the annual raffle raised $1500.”

Ms Kempton said the day ran “really well”.

“Thank you to the whole community for its support on the day,” she said.

“To even get close and go above last year’s figure, I was rapt.

“People were very generous.”

Across the state, more than $22 million was raised for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
