Swans go down to Pumas
CARAMUT had a seven-point loss to Moyston/Willaura in the round 13 senior football match at the Willaura Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
The Swans were 25 points down at the first change, but outscored the Pumas by eight goals to five in the final three quarters to push the home team right until the end.
Moyston/Willaura registered its second victory of the season, with a 11.8.74 to 9.13.67 win.
Coach Scott Judd and forward Charlie Farrer both kicked two goals in the loss for the Swans.
Devon Coates, Ryan O’Connor and Kobi Bidmade were Caramut’s best.
This week Caramut hosts local rival Woorndoo/Mortlake at the Caramut Recreation Reserve.
It was also close in the reserves game, Moyston/Willaura winning 6.6.42 to 4.13.37.
Damian Jones kicked three goals for Caramut, with Carl Lehmann, Michael Payne and Roha Allen the Swans best.
In the under 16.5s, Caramut had a 15.12.102 to 2.2.14 win.
Taj O’Brien, Finneaus Dennis and Toby Pearse were best for the junior Swans.
Angus Rowe kicked four goals for Caramut, with O’Brien kicking three and Dennis two.
Caramut had a big 62-32 win in the A grade netball.
Goal attack Emilie Tonissen was best on court for the Swans and scored a match high 33 goals.
Goal shooter Chloe Anderson scored 29 goals.
Mid court player Kimberley Tebble was also in the best for Caramut.
Caramut had a 31-23 win in the B grade game.
Yolie O’Sullivan was best on court and scored 20 goals, with Chloe Anderson scoring 11.
Maddison Higginson was also in the best for the Swans.
In C grade, Caramut had a 33-19 win.
Rachel Hassett scored 19 goals and Carmel Meade 12, with Meade named best for the Swans.
Caramut won the 18 and under netball 35-33.
Emilie Tonissen and Maddi Calvert were best for the Swans, with Tonissen putting through 23 goals.
Yolie O’Sullivan and Kate Parker were best for Caramut’s 15 and under team in its 30-8 victory.
Alex Lehmann scored nine goals and O’Sullivan eight in the win.
Caramut’s undefeated run in the 13 and under netball continued, winning 22-11.
Alex Lehmann shot 14 goals in the Swans 13th win of the season.
