Table tennis resumes tonight
THE Terang table tennis season will kick off with two practice/seedings evenings.
The first will be held tonight, Wednesday, April 17 and the second next week, Wednesday, April 24.
This will lead into the first round of competition on May 8.
This is the first time we will be running a singles tournament at the start of the season
If you are wanting to play competition table tennis, Terang is the only venue between Warrnambool and Colac that runs a competition. The last few years we have seen a number of new players start playing in our competition, which has made for a very even competition. Players are ranked and teams picked to try and have an even competition. We are always interested in having returning and new players come to play.
The Terang Table Tennis Association’s competition is played in the Terang Stadium from 7.30pm on Wednesday nights with the season proper starting in May and finishing in September. Anyone interested in playing competitive table tennis this year is invited to come along to these practice evenings as we seed players before selecting the teams to make for an even competition.
As we play on the one night, table tennis provides an opportunity for all members of the family to play. Don’t think that because you haven’t played competitively before that you cannot start now, as seeding players enables all abilities to be catered for. Players’ ages range from upper primary school through to one in his eighties. Players hail from all around the district.
