Taking the day in stride
THE Mortlake College school community made strides towards a healthier choice when they joined together to walk to school as part of a national initiative.

Students, parents and staff walked through town on Friday morning to make the most of National Walk Safely to School Day.
National Walk Safely to School Day is held each year to encourage students to walk to school where possible to build a healthy routine, put road safety into practice and make a positive environmental benefit.
A school spokesperson offered their appreciation for the students, parents and staff who took part in the day, braving a chilly and foggy morning to make their way to school.

“What a fantastic morning we had for Walk to School Day on Friday,” the spokesperson said.
“Despite the chilly start, it was wonderful to see so many students, parents and staff coming together to enjoy a healthy and active start to the day.
“The morning was filled with smiles, conversation and plenty of community spirit as families walked together to school.
“Events like this are a wonderful reminder of the importance of staying active, building healthy habits and strengthening the connections within our school community.
“Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the morning such a success – we loved seeing so many students enthusiastically taking part and arriving at school ready for a great day of learning.”
