TAPs On! 2024 spreads excitement for learning
IT is not often you see a fairy godmother near a FarmBot, opposite a Rube Goldberg machine.

The annual Timboon Agriculture Project (TAPs) On! curriculum expo had it all and more for students, teachers and visitors.
Held at the Timboon P-12 School, the day is a day of celebration of everything learning.
TAP coordinator Andrea Vallance was pleased with how TAPs On! went this year.
“Just under 450 students from Timboon P-12, Nullawarre and Simpson Primary schools participated in a series of peer-led workshops held at Timboon on Thursday in a celebration of the exciting TAP curriculum based around agriculture and community,” she said.
“Students were introduced to the vast array of volunteer organisations available in the south west by Corangamite Shire Community Sport Volunteer Award winner, Amy Rosolin.” “(Then) they were challenged to step up to row ergo machines, perform CPR in a mannequin race, learn about Triple zero, prepare for bushfires and watch the SES demonstrate a cliff ropes rescue and other skills exercises.
“The event culminated in a multi-agency rescue scenario where students and visitors could watch how the SES, CFA and Ambulance Victoria worked together to extract a trapped driver from a crashed car with 15 volunteers working as an integrated unit.”
Mrs Vallance thanked the wider community for its support of the event.
“We acknowledge our 2024 TAP supporters; the Gall, Jones, Uebergang, Brodie and Vedmore Foundations,” she said.
“Thank you to our wonderful student presenters, teachers, mentors, parents, visiting educators, industry and community guests for helping us celebrate TAPS On! 2024.”
