In what has become an annual tradition, Year 9/10 students in the Outdoor Education class walked along Nylon Street, and down and around Lake Cobden, picking up rubbish as they went.

The result was five large garbage bags full of rubbish picked up, according to class teacher Neal Simmonds.

“Compared to other years it was good,” he said.

“It’s been getting less over the last few years. Last year we had eight or nine bags.

“We did see there was less cans and bottles this year.”

Mr Simmonds commended the students on their efforts.

“They were really keen and all got involved,” he said.

“They were terrific.”
