Terang and Mortlake Health Service raises goods for donation

IN the spirit of kindness and giving, Terang and Mortlake Health Service (TMHS) staff has been collecting festive food and goodies to give back to the community for the holidays.
The campaign named #FriendsAreFor says it all; it is about how people in the community care for each other, especially when times are tough.
Collected items were donated to Terang St Vincent’s on Wednesday morning and will be distributed to local families who could use some help and a few extra items at Christmas time.
The items include non-perishable foods, Christmas treats, Christmas decorations and tableware, and toys and small gifts.
TMHS chief executive officer Julia Ogdin said the health service was proud to be involved in the initiative.
“The joy of giving brings joy to the giver and the receiver,” she said.
“I am very touched by the generosity of our staff who has donated goods.
“We are extremely proud of our health service and acknowledge the support we continually receive from our community.”
Items were donated to Christmas boxes located in the Terang and Mortlake Health Services lunch room, Jose Black Community Centre in Terang and the health services’ Mortlake Campus.
With this past year providing so many challenges to many people in the community, organisers hope the #FriendsAreFor campaign was a small gesture, giving back to the community at Christmas time.
