Terang dominates the greens

TERANG bowlers have shone brightly on the greens, cleaning up in the Bessie Shady Bowls Comp played on December 1.

Eighteen teams of four contested the competition, held at Terang last Friday – with Terang finishing first and second.

The winning team, Terang 2, comprised Jenny Meade, Heather Holmes, Sharee Scanlon and Marion Venn who finished with a score of 135 points.

The runners-up, Terang 3, comprised Clare Pearson, Jo Arundell, Margie Driscoll and Aileen Clarke who finished on 134 points.

Best visiting team went to Timboon 2, Lynne Newson, Vera Convey, Mandy Dalton and Nellie Cashmore with 120points.

Individual winners were: A grade Heather Holmes 40 points, B grade Aileen Clarke 39 and C grade Elaine Hrabar 37.

Nearest the pins (local team): 11th Sharee Scanlon and 6th Margie Driscoll.

Nearest the pins (visitors) 3rd Maureen Clements, 6th Sophie Bowker and 11th Deb Narik.

Thankyou to the 72 players who competed and to all those who do their part in the organisation of this day. Well done Terang.

Last week’s competition was won by George Beasley with 38 points followed by Cate Glennon on 37.

Winner of the nine-hole competition was Margie Driscoll with 23 points from Lynette Coxon 17.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Maureen Bond, 9th from off the green Judy Delaney and 11th George Beasley.
