Terang golfers win district events
TERANG golfers Vicki Philp and Jenny Meade produced strong results earlier this week.
TERANG golfers Vicki Philp and Jenny Meade produced strong results earlier this week.
The pair were victorious at the Western District Golf Association championships held on Tuesday at the Port Fairy Golf Course.
Meade won the 0 to 18 handicap section with a score of nett 68, while Philp won the 19-29 handicap section’s scratch event with 89 off the stick.
Meanwhile, golfers played a par event at the Terang Golf Club last Thursday.
Results:
A grade winner: Marion Venn plus three, on a countback from Margie Driscoll plus three.
B grade winner: Pam Kenna square, runner-up Bruce McLennan on minus five.
Best nine: Colin Venn.
Balls down the line: Aileen Clarke square; Billy Wood minus one; Vicki Philp minus one; Jenny Meade minus two.
Nearest the pins: Marion Venn (third and ninth holes), Billy Wood (11th hole).
Today’s event will be round one of the club championships.
