In light of recent race day cancellations at Dunkeld, Mortlake and various other tracks across the state, Racing Victoria late last week announced an additional program – to be held at Terang this Saturday, November 12.
Terang Racing Club president Shane Scally said the club was thrilled to receive the additional meeting and he was looking forward to seeing a great field of entrants, along with a strong crowd to enjoy what looks set to be an entertaining day.
“We’re very excited to be hosting Saturday’s meeting and with the weather looking okay so far, it should be a great day out,” Scally said.
“We have eight races scheduled, with the main event being an Open Handicap over 1800 metres with a $50,000 stake.
“The fields will come out today (Thursday) and I’m sure the program will be a great one.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for horses to get some extra runs in and for people to be trackside once again.”
Multiple umbrella packages are now available and can be purchased via the Terang Racing Club website so why not get a group of friends or family members together and enjoy a picnic on the lawn?
The first race is scheduled for 12.50pm.
