Terang swimmers make a splash

FOUR Terang Swimming Club members competed at the School Sport Victoria Greater Western Region Swimming Championships in hot conditions at Horsham on Friday, March 18.

FOUR Terang Swimming Club members competed at the School Sport Victoria Greater Western Region Swimming Championships in hot conditions at Horsham on Friday, March 18.

To qualify for this event swimmers needed to win at their school level and then at the divisional level to progress to the regional level, which includes 37 schools throughout the region from Edenhope to Lorne and from Timboon to Portland.

Secondary students competed in the morning session, while primary students swam in the afternoon.

The Terang swimmers achieved some impressive results, including a number of podium finishes and some very competitive times.

Results:

Pippa Barr: 2nd – backstroke, 3rd – freestyle relay, 4th – butterfly.

Chloe Clifford: 5th – butterfly.

MacKenzie Dillon: 6th – breaststroke.

Daniel Hyatt: 3rd – butterfly, 4th – breaststroke.
