Battlers who hadn’t registered a win this season defeated fourth placed Aces by the narrowest of margins 7-6.
However, it was two individual results that stood out.
Firstly, on his night, Mark Smith is capable of beating anyone.
In a hard-hitting contest he defeated the Association Champion Callum McSween in 6 games 11-6, 12-10, 9-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8.
Michael Pearson followed up with his biggest victory by defeating Callum in 4 games giving Battlers their first win.
Michael has the shots to compete against the best, but doing so for the whole match has been the problem.
Not so on this occasion winning 11-4, 6-11, 13-11, 11-9.
For Michael all his singles went to 5 games winning 2 of the 3. Mark won both his singles.
Alex Rotchfort and Keegan Brandrup won a singles each and combined to win the doubles.
Sub Charlie Kenna was the best player for the Aces winning all 3 singles with Tyler Smith winning a singles and a doubles.
The battle between the second and third side saw Dreamers winning 8-5 with more than half of the matches going to the fourth, fifth and even seventh game.
Daryl Burns and Tony Young had a terrific match which needed 7 games to decide the contest.
Daryl won 8-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-6, 4-11, 6-11, 11-7.
Daryl won both his singles and doubles. Sub Sam Heffernan won all his matches with Dan Galea and Mohan Bam winning a singles and a doubles.
For the Bloods sub Pat Nicholson won 2 singles and a doubles with Tony, Ganga Ayral and Tony Young won a singles each.
After round 9 the Ladder sees Three and a Half Men 20, Dreamers 20, Bloods 16, Aces 12, Battlers 0.
