Terang team wins Marie Astell Bowl
TERANG bowlers have performed exceptionally well on the Camperdown greens to take out the eighth Marie Astell Bowl.

The annual event is held in memory of Marie, a long-time member of the Camperdown Bowls Club, and is a celebration of friendship through golf.
This year’s event saw 16 teams contest the gentsomes competition (a modified form of stableford for teams of four).
Once again Charles Astell was present to make the presentations at the end of the day’s play.
The winners, from Terang, were Lyn Coxon, Elaine Hrabar, Jane Heffernan and Karen Mather with an outstanding score of 103 points.
The runners-up, on 98 points, were Marg White and Terri Sinnott from Camperdown who joined guests Judy Delaney (Timboon) and Sue Couch (Cobden).
The team with the best nine out score of 49 points (from East Framlingham) were P. McLeod, P. Clark, M. O’Rourke and C. Carroll.
The team with the best nine in of 50 points was anchored by local D. Conheady, with J. Meade and A. Clarke from Terang and M. O’Brien from Hamilton.
Nearest the pins: 9th M. White (Camperdown), 15th J. Walsh (Timboon) and 17th D. Conheady (Camperdown).
