Students had the opportunity to let their hair down – while also pitching in with tidying up – on Tuesday during the final day of school for 2025.

Terang College principal Kath Tanner said there was plenty to celebrate as the year had proven to be “another successful year at the college”.

“We’re really proud of our students and what they have achieved, particularly proud of Chelsea McConnell (Terang College dux) and her fantastic score,” she said.

“There have been fantastic wins across the college whether that be sporting events with students making state representation or students building giant worm farms to show that we care about the environment.

“Whatever field, they’re doing a really good job.

“We try to find something that fits everyone’s needs.”

Mrs Tanner said the final day for students involved all hands-on deck to help clean up the school, which students were all too pleased to be involved with.

“As we wrap up the year, students have had a chance to have some fun activities and now they’re helping the teachers pack up rooms and clean areas,” she said.

“We’re really living out the value of responsibility.”

Terang College also hosted its awards ceremony this week for both primary (Foundation to Year Six) and secondary students to reflect on a phenomenal year.

“Our primary and secondary speech night went really well,” Mrs Tanner said.

“It was a great chance to reflect on the achievements and growth of our students.

“We were lucky in the morning, during our primary assembly, to have some performing arts brought into the program.

“We were lucky Leah Boyd, our art teacher, has been teaching students in Foundation to Year Six a dance piece which they performed at the assembly.

“It was a lot of fun.”
