Thrilling tie for Derrinallum
THE round 14 Grenville Cricket Association match between fourth placed Derrinallum and third placed Linton on Saturday ended in a thrilling tie.

Linton captain John Stuart won the toss and elected to bat first at the Derrinallum Recreation Reserve.
The visitors raced to 0/55 before Derrinallum captain Ned Uren struck twice in the same over.
“It was a slow outfield but they got away to a good start,” Uren said.
“It was good to pin them back, all of our bowlers did a great job.”
Linton pushed on to 7/150 from its 40 overs.
KB Randhawa took his first wickets for Derrinallum, finishing with 2/14 from four overs.
Uren took 2/17 from six overs, while Ben Carr passed the 150 mark for the club in taking 2/30 from eight overs.
Derrinallum got off to a good start in the run chase, with Uren and Randhawa putting on 45 for the first wicket.
Randhawa made 20 from 29 balls, with Uren top scoring with 47 from 75, including six boundaries.
The Tigers continued to chip away at the total but wickets continued to fall.
At 7/124 the task looked increasingly tough, but vice-captain Dale Hose had other ideas.
“We had some good cameos throughout, but Dale with his 19 was really good.
“He played a big role in getting us right up to their total.”

When Charlie Londregan was run out on the second ball of the final over, Derrinallum needed two to win with one wicket in hand.
Senior debutant Fletcher Greig faced two dot balls before hitting a single from the second last ball to level the scores.
Zac Gellie, facing the last ball, bottom edged the delivery which dropped and stopped near the stumps.
A run out ensued as the batsmen tried to scramble through for the winning run, the match ending in a tie.
“We weren’t too disappointed, we had a few out,” Uren said.
“We’d lost our previous three games so it was good to get some points out of it.”
Alongside Fletcher Greig, Derrinallum also handed a senior debut to another junior player in Charlie Turner.
“They’re good kids Charlie and Fletcher, it was great to give them a taste of senior cricket.
“Our junior section is really strong, there’s a really good group coming through.”
In tomorrow’s game, Derrinallum will host seventh placed Rokewood at Derrinallum.
In the under 16 match on Saturday morning, Derrinallum had a win over Linton at Linton.
The home team batted first and posted 7/66 from its 25 overs.
Eddie Gellie led the Tigers bowling with 3/11 from five overs, while Neave Thompson took 2/4 from five.
Patrick Greig and Austin Price took a wicket each.
In reply, Derrinallum scored 6/86 to seal the win.
Eddie Gellie top scored with 19 from 30 balls, Charles Turner retired on 13 from 24 balls and Fletcher Greig made 12.
This Saturday in the under 16s, Derrinallum play Lismore at Derrinallum.
The under 12 competition resumes tonight after the holiday break, with the junior Tigers playing Linton at Linton.
