Tickner wins Medal of Medalists
GOLFER Pat Tickner has won the Medal of Medalists at Cobden.
Alex Holster also had a strong round on the Cobden golf course last Wednesday to finish ahead of the field.
Alex finished with 68 nett to be the daily winner.
Thirteen players competed in the day’s competition, December monthly medal and Medal of Medalists.
The runner-up was Sam Rix on 72 nett while the monthly medal winner was Pat Tickner 75 nett on countback from Deb Ferrari (who also won the putting).
Nearest the pin – A grade: 4th and 10th Sherine Healey; B grade: 4th and 10th Chloe Healey; C grade: 4thEv Boyd; gents – 4th Ulbe Twynstra, 10th Alex Holster.
Nearest the pin on the 7th was Sherine Healey.
Balls down the line: Deb Gerrari with 75 nett.
Thirty-four players enjoyed the final round of club championships and privilege pot last Saturday.
D. Beard won A grade with net 76 from runner-up K. Buchanan on 77.
B grade went to A. Giles on 74 from C. Sargeant 75 while J. Rix 68 took out C grade from B. Bourke 72.
D grade was won by S. Mahony net 68 from F. Bosch on 69.
Nearest the pins: 4th K. Buchanan, 7th D. Beard, 10th K. Buchanan, closest second on the 2nd S. Mahony and closest on the 14th M. Darcy.
The privilege pot was won by J. Rix on net 68.
Balls down the line went to G. Byrne, B. Bourke, B. Smith, A. Giles, J. Green, J. Mason, H. Rix and G. Davies.
Club champions were awarded to:
A grade – D. Oakley 309, A. Couch 313: B grade – B. Byrne 347, C. Sargeant 347; C grade – M. Drayton 366, G. Davis 382; D grade – F. Bosch 400 B. Welsby 404.
The A.E. George handicap went to M. Draven 291.
The junior championship went to H. Rix on 412 while the Medal of Medalists was won by J. Rix net 68.
This weekend will be LH and TO Green golf day (stableford) for both men and women.
