WOORNDOO Mortlake senior footballers recorded a commanding 70-point win over Glenthompson-Dunkeld on the weekend to extend their finals campaign.
Glenthompson-Dunkeld raced out to a strong start over Woorndoo Mortlake to lead 0.3.3 to 2.0.12 at the end of the first quarter.
But the surge was short-lived after the Tigers pounced in the second quarter, clawing their way back in to control with a 8.8.56 to 4.1.25 lead at the half.
The Tigers did not lose their footing for the remainder of the contest, charging ahead to a comfortable 11.9.75 to 6.2.38 lead heading in to the final quarter.
Woorndoo Mortlake remained in charge through to the final siren, nabbing a 17.12.114 to 7.2.44 victory.
Best players were Liam Meekes, Haydn Templeton, Damien Pemberton, Sam Gervasoni and Liam Cameron.
Matthew Pemberton led the scoring with four goals, followed by Jordan Buckley and Grant Cameron with three apiece.
The Tigers will face off with Lismore Derrinallum this Sunday at Macarthur Recreation Reserve from 2.15pm.
Woorndoo Mortlake will be on the prowl for redemption as Lismore Derrinallum won both contests over the Tigers this season, recording a 33-point victory in round one and an 11-point win in round 12.
