Tigers get the win
WOORNDOO Mortlake has scored its fourth senior football win of the 2025 season with a 15.19.109 to 9.9.63 victory over Moyston Willaura.

“We played ok, but were a bit scrappy,” Tigers coach Isaac Templeton said of the match played at the Woorndoo Recreation Reserve.
“There were a few signs of things we are working on coming through which were pleasing.”
Inaccurate first and third terms cost the Tigers a larger winning margin.
“We had plenty of shots from the wrong areas, especially in the first quarter, we could have used an extra kick on many of those chances,” Templeton said.
“Full credit to Moyston Willaura though, they played well and looked a far better team than their 11th position on the ladder.”
Permit player Zack Lubeek kicked six goals on his debut for the Tigers, while captain Matthew Pemberton kicked four.
“Zack has been training with us, with his club Avoca having the bye it was a good chance to get him in for a game,” Templeton said.
Templeton noted his team put in a very even team performance, but did have two standouts.
“Jack Richie and Kane Killen dominated, they were brilliant for us,” he said.
Templeton’s brother, ruckman Hayden, played his first game of the season for the Tigers.
“Hayden was solid, he’ll be a good inclusion for a big chunk of games for the rest of the season,” he said.
A big game this week for the fourth placed Tigers, taking on third placed Hawkesdale Macarthur at Macarthur.
A tight finish in the reserves football, with the Tigers scraping home for a 5.12.42 to 5.8.38 win.
Charles Kenny kicked two goals for the Tigers, with Tim Ackerly, Hunter Lynch and Harry Wills best.
The under 16.5 game saw Moyston Willaura score a 7.16.58 to 2.0.12 win.

Best for the junior Tigers were Alexander Pilcher, Nicholas Krepp, Zavier Turner, Michael Bunting, Cooper Francis and Bailey Fox.
