Tigers head to Haddon

DERRINALLUM had a five wicket loss to Carranballac in round nine Grenville Cricket Association match on Saturday.


Batting first at the Derrinallum Recreation Reserve, the Tigers made 9/121 from their 40 overs.

Opener Karan Brar and number six Harpreet Singh each made 34 from 52 and 35 balls respectively to top score.

Carranballac reached the Tigers score in the 34th over for the loss of five wickets to record a vital win and leapfrogging Derrinallum to move into second place.

Karan Brar with 2/19 from eight overs and Ned Uren with 2/29 from eight did a tidy job with the new ball, with Paul Brisbane taking the other wicket and conceding 25 runs from his eight overs.

This week Derrinallum will face another tough opponent, playing Haddon at Haddon.

In the under 16s, Derrinallum had a tight win over Rokewood at Rokewood.

The home team batted first, making 9/64 from their 25 overs.

Austin Price took 3/2 from two overs, with Eddie Gellie taking two wickets.

In reply Derrinallum just got over the line, making 9/67 from 24.2 overs.

Patrick Greig top scored with 13, with Emmett Henderson making a vital seven not out at the end of the innings.

Tomorrow morning in the under 16s, the top placed Derrinallum play Linton at Derrinallum.

In the under 12s, Derrinallum had a 40 run win over Lismore at Derrinallum last Friday night.

The visitors batted first and made 75 from their 20 overs.

Charles Turner and Logan Henderson took two wickets each for the junior Tigers.

Derrinallum replied with 115 from 20 overs, Charles Turner and Eddie Gellie both making 19.

In tonight’s under 12 game, Derrinallum play Rokewood at Rokewood.
