Tigers on a winning streak

SIMPSON’S senior footballers celebrated their third consecutive win, with a 59 point victory over Otway Districts in the round 10 Colac and District match.

The Tigers kicked five unanswered goals in the first quarter to set up the 14.13.97 to 6.2.38 win at the Simpson Recreation Reserve.

Nick Duynhoven, Gus Hawkes, Jayden Rooke, Thomas Leishman, Brad Salmon and Mitch Reed were Simpson’s best in the win, with Duynhoven kicking four goals and Salmon and Reed two each.

The reserves match saw Simpson score an impressive 16.21.117 to 0.0.0 win.

Best for Simpson were Cooper Neal, Brock Neal, Geordie Ferrari and Jason Kordupel, with Jono Jennings kicking five goals, with two each to Brock Neal and Jayden McVilly.

The under 15 football saw Simpson have a 5.5.35 to 3.3.21 win.

Lucas Woolstencroft, Jyda Randle and Ben Vogels were best for Simpson, with Ben and Harry Vogels kicking two goals each and Kaiden Teal one.

Otway Districts were too strong in the under 12 football, recording a 9.4.58 to 3.6.24 win.

Kaiden Teal kicked two goals and Dominic Maguire one for the junior Tigers.

The A grade netball saw Otway Districts score a 50-43 win.

Amy Pemberton, Chloe Woods and Eliza Duynhoven were the Tigers best in the loss, with Shelby Cameron scoring 22 goals and Duynhoven 21.

The B grade game saw a 40-33 win to Otway Districts.

Maddi Cunnington, Lucy De Jong and Kara Tyrer were best for Simpson, with Cunnington shooting 22 goals and Georgia Arndell 10.

Simpson took out a close C grade game 40-38.

Rachael Duynhoven, Shayla Daniels and Sharni Mason were best in the win for Simpson, with Duynhoven shooting 27 goals and Kayla Hallyburton, in her 50th senior game for the Tigers, scoring 13.

The D grade game ended in a 40-22 win to Simpson.

Keisha McVilly, Leesa Seabrook and Charlotte Plozza were best for the Tigers, with Rebecca Foster shooting 22 goals and Brianna Ferrari 11.

Simpson scored a 39-22 win in the 17 and under netball.

Kustom Robertson, Tara Robertson and Tyra Sambell were best for the Tigers in the win, Robertson scoring a match high 25 goals.

Otway Districts got the points in the 15 and under netball with a 36-29 win.

Keisha McVilly, Jianna Malka Salas and Milah Crole were best for the Tigers in the loss, with McVilly shooting 15 goals and River Rothery 11.

The 13 and under netball saw Otway Districts win 16-14.

Nyha Ford, Sadie McVilly and Kensie Austin were best for the junior Tigers in the loss, with Mia Arndell shooting eight goals.

This Saturday sees Simpson’s teams head to Irrewillipe to take on the Western Eagles.
