Tigers shake premiership contenders
WOORNDOO fell just short of causing a big upset against second placed Birregurra in round 14 of the Colac-South West premier cricket competition on Saturday.
Tigers skipper Tyler Mungean won the toss and sent the Saints into bat at the Woorndoo Recreation Reserve, restricting the visitors to 219 all out from the final ball of the 50th over.

After an early wicket in the run chase, Woorndoo put together a string of partnerships to challenge Birregurra’s total.
Jacob Gray and Mungean put together 64 for the second wicket, Euan Irving and Schafer added 51 for the fourth wicket, with Irving and Walsh combining for 65 for the fifth wicket.
With 13 required from the final over and five wickets in hand, Woorndoo could only manage three runs while losing two wickets to finish on 7/210.
