LAST weekend’s opening round of South West Cricket proved a tough one for Woorndoo.

At home to Camperdown on Saturday, the Tigers struggled with the bat, finishing the day on 9/88 after 29 overs.

Jacob Fowler (29) and Nelson Loader (10) were the only batsmen to reach double figures, while the visitors (who won the toss and elected to bat) notched up 7/272.

Lakers’ batsman Steven Fisher gave the Tigers a workout in the field, smashing his way to 125 off 74 balls which included 16 fours and three sixes.

Best of the bowlers for the Tigers were Rhys Casson with 3-19 off three overs and Nelson Loader 2-62 from eight.

Round two this Saturday will see the Tigers host the Cobden Knights.
