WOORNDOO Mortlake’s senior football and A grade netball teams kept their unbeaten records intact with victories over Glenthompson Dunkeld last Saturday.

The Tigers’ senior football side extended its unbeaten run to nine matches with a comfortable 18.11 (119) to 9.7 (61) triumph.

A five goal to one opening term saw the Tigers open up a 26 point lead at the first break, which remained in place at half-time.

Woorndoo Mortlake then seized control in the third term, kicking 10 unanswered goals, before the Rams hit back with a six goal to one last quarter to reduce the final margin to 58 points.

Jesse Horan (seven) and Grant Cameron (six) combined to kick 13 of the 18 goals, while Keilan Bamford also chipped in with two.

Horan’s effort saw him win best on ground honours, while Tyson Hogan, James Coghlan-West, Bamford, Will Templeton and Isaac Templeton also played well.

The victory kept the Tigers in first position on percentage ahead of Tatyoon, with the pair currently eight points clear of its nearest rivals.

The netballers recorded a 38-26 victory in the top of the table clash which doubled as a 2019 grand final rematch.

A strong first half set up Woorndoo Mortlake’s victory, with the Tigers piling on 20 goals to nine to open up a healthy lead.

Both sides scored nine goals apiece in the third term, before the Tigers finished with a 9-4 final stanza to run out 16 goal victors.

Coach Ash Spokes was best on court following an 18 goal performance, while defender Georgia McCormick also produced a strong game.

The victory lifted the Tigers into top spot, with the side the last of the unbeaten teams in the netball competition.

The Tigers face bottom side Caramut this weekend.
