Tigers washed out

SIMPSON’S round four Colac-South West premier cricket match against Irrewarra was abandoned without a ball bowled on Saturday due to the weather.


This week it's the clash of the Tigers as Simpson head to Woorndoo for the round five match.

In division two, Simpson recorded a three wicket win over Tomahawk Creek at Irrewillipe.

Batting first, the home team was dismissed for 141.

Liam Ackerly led the Simpson bowlers with 3/14 from eight overs.

Simpson passed Tomahawk Creek’s score in the 30th over for the loss of seven wickets.

Jono Jennings top scored with 55 from 30 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes.

Simpson’s division three match at Lorne was also abandoned without any play.

In the under 14s on Friday night, Simpson had a 77 run win over City United Gold at Elliminyt.

Fin Mahoney with 32 retired and Harry Vogels with 20 retired top scored in Simpson’s score of 5/162.

In reply, City United could only manage 7/85, Jack Vogels taking three wickets for the junior Tigers.

In this week’s matches, Simpson play Colac at CMTP Oval in division two and Tomahawk Creek at Simpson in division three.

The under 14 Tigers will play City United Purple at Simpson on Friday night.
