TIMBOON Action committee members are looking forward to the year ahead.
Last week a new committee was elected during the group’s annual general meeting (AGM) with a number of new faces joining the committee.
The new committee consisted of:
President – Heather Martin;
Vice president – Heather Nicholls;
Secretary – Leanne Whitehead;
Treasurer – Russell White; and
Executive committee positions – Michele Fratantaro and Kylie Oates.
Ms Martin said the coming 12 months were looking to be busy for the committee.
“I’m excited for fresh faces and new committee members who will help bring a fresh energy to the committee and for our projects for the year ahead,” she said.
“We’re focusing on our Christmas in the Street event which will also be our December market which is a twilight market between 3pm to 7pm on Friday, December 15.
“We’re very much looking forward to it; there’s a huge buzz in the town about it.”
Ms Martin said the group would also be concentrating on its monthly market which was “proving hugely popular with locals and tourists alike”.
“We’re getting new stalls every month,” she said.
“We’re also preparing for the best decorated shop and house Christmas display.
“There will be voting and prizes to be won.”
Ms Martin encouraged community members interested in getting involved with Timboon Action to attend an upcoming meeting.
“Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend meeting and we encourage new memberships,” she said.
