TIMBOON parkrun celebrated a special milestone over the weekend – its 200th event.

Event director Dean Whitehead said early morning rain did not dampen spirits on Saturday, with 21 people taking part in the free weekly event.

“Thank you to everyone that has been involved in keeping this event going over the past five years,” he said.

“It’s a great way to start the weekend with wonderful people in a spectacular setting."

“It has been a great achievement for our small community to have parkrun events.”

Mr Whitehead thanked the volunteers who help keep the weekly event going.

“You don’t need to run or walk to join parkrun there are plenty of volunteer roles that need to be filled each week,” he said.

Timboon parkrun begins at 8pm sharp every Saturday, with event briefing from 7.45am at the Timboon playground.
