RSL members Michael Nixon and Alan Fleming were thanked and awarded for their significant service to the Camperdown sub branch over many years at the AGM.

Mr Nixon held the president role on two separate occasions and has been the secretary for the past three years.

He has also been the membership officer and the grants officer, along with many other volunteering duties.

Mr Fleming held the president role for seven years and, during that time, covered every vacancy that arose on the committee, including grants officer, property manager, newsletter editor, and museum curator.

He continues to be a valued volunteer.

Current president Kevin Murray said he was proud of Mr Nixon and Mr Fleming.

“These gentlemen have both been tireless volunteers and the backbone of the Camperdown RSL and their efforts are worthy of formal recognition,” he said.

Mr Murray also wished Mr Nixon all the best as he prepares for life in Western Australia and thanked current and new members for attending the AGM and afternoon tea.

New members are always welcome at Camperdown RSL and are urged to contact Mr Murray on 0418 568 303.
