TMHS achieves health benchmarks
TERANG Mortlake Health Service (TMHS) has recently completed the benchmarks needed to build on a healthy workplace.

TERANG Mortlake Health Service (TMHS) has recently completed the benchmarks needed to build on a healthy workplace.
Over the past two years TMHS has completed all five benchmarks of the Victorian Government’s Achievement Program.
The benchmarks to achieve a healthy workplace include;
• Alcohol and other drug use;
• Increase physical activity;
• Mental health and wellbeing;
• Smoking; and
• Healthy eating.
TMHS joins local early learning centre Buckle My Shoe, which has also recently been granted recognition under the program.
TMHS health promotion officer Tanya Glossop said the organisation was pleased to take positive steps to create a healthier working environment.
“It’s been a couple of years in the making, and credit to Laura O’Dowd (maternity leave) who has done most of the work,” she said.
“The hospital staff is pleased to have it all done and know we’re meeting those benchmarks.
“It is important to have a healthy working environment, and we can give out that knowledge.
“We’ve recently seen Buckle My Shoe finish the program, which schools, community groups and any work place can take on and we can help do that.”
The Achievement Program is a free program supported by the Victorian Government and delivered by Cancer Council Victoria.
All Victorian workplaces, schools and early childhood centres are able to participate in the program.
Organisations which participate can have an allocated local health promotion officer to assist with the implementation of the program or use the online resources.
