The Civic Hall in Terang came to life on Friday evening as families gathered to enjoy a toe-tapping time for a cause.

The concert was held in partnership between the Rotary Club of Terang and Corangamite Shire Council, which had provided funding for the concert through State Government funding designed to support communities through the drought.

Local talent taking to the stage included Still Misbehavin’, Flamin’ 80s, RE-SPIN, Tommy Harrold and Julie and Rob Stewart-Murray.

Rotary Club of Terang member Paul Blain, who had helped to bring the event from concept to concert, said $1000 was raised on the night which would flow to the Drought Relief Appeal.

“It was a wonderful evening,” he said.

“Everything went well and people had a most enjoyable night.

“We had a reasonable crowd – it is small steps, but we were able to raise the money which will be used to support farmers.”

Mr Blain thanked those in the community who had come along to show their support.

“The bands were fantastic and the atmosphere was great,” he said.

“It was good to see people up singing and dancing – those are all the things we want to see.

“For everyone involved the night was as much about giving farmers a night off as it was raising funds.

“It was a whole community event with plenty of new faces coming along.”
