Torch pass continues support
LISMORE’S Biggest Morning Tea saw strong support from across the community last week, finishing with the official morning tea on the Saturday.
Full on Food took over hosting the morning tea following Sandy Gibson’s retirement, seeing a full house over the course of the morning.
Co-owner Sophie Anastasiadis said they held a raffle over four days last week, cumulating in drawing winners on both Saturday and Sunday, after tickets were sold in businesses in Derrinallum and Lismore.
“Many businesses in Lismore assisted to donate prizes,” she said.
“On Saturday morning from 9.30-11.30am we had a morning tea.
“People would pay a $10 entry, which was part of the donation, which gave them a coffee and morning tea we supplied.
“We had a pretty good turnout.”

The raffle, combined with entry for the morning teas, saw Full on Food raise $1500 to go towards Cancer Council to fund cancer research.
Ms Anastasiadis said she was hoping to be able to continue the Biggest Morning Tea in Lismore following this year’s success.
“We did it because Sandy, the lady next door at the Wooltrack Store, had done it for 25 years and has closed the shop to retire,” she said.
“In Lismore, there was no-one else we were aware of who was going to hold an event.
“We were contacted by the organisation because I used to do it at other places I worked at.”
