FOUR Terang basketballers have been chosen to participate in Basketball Victoria Country’s under 14 regional basketball academy program.
Top agers Lara Clarke and Hamish Molan and bottom age pair Emma Hill and Tayte McMaster were all selected for the program after completing a skills day in Hamilton last month.
The quartet will now undertake a 20-week training and development program which focusses on advanced individual and team skills, with regular group skills sessions to be held at Warrnambool.
Two camps will also be held for both squads, with the quartet likely to head to Hamilton to participate in further coaching and skills sessions.
Up to 550 aspiring young basketballers have been selected for the academy which is used as a direct pathway to selection for 2022 events including the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup and Southern Cross Challenge.
