Tough conditions for bowlers
ROUND 10 for Camperdown Bowls Club was one that reminded all players that they are only as good as their last bowl.
After such a lovely day Friday, to then go out and play in cold, wet and windy conditions on Saturday took a bit to adjust.
Division four played second on ladder Cobden 3 and lost all three rinks but tried hard.
Lyn’s rink was a player down and lost 8-34, Jim’s rink lost 16-25 and Ted’s rink went down by eight shots, 14-22.
Next week Camperdown/Lismore play at home against Camperdown Golf 3.

T. Goodacre (s), P. Halloran, J. Borthwick and T. Tormey.

The top four are: Camperdown Golf 3, Cobden 3, Winchelsea 3, and Camperdown Golf 4, followed by Cressy 2, Birregurra 2, Central 3, Camperdown/Lismore.
In division one this game was the start of the rematches from the start of the season.
Camperdown lost by 18 shots but won one rink at the start of the season.
Had Camperdown improved?
Ron Cameron’s rink won 29-23 against Grant McLaren’s rink.
Mark McDonald’s rink was beaten 17-37.
Matthew Brewer’s rink started off slow but won 22-17 and the last rink, Luke Wright’s, played Heath McLaren’s team and lost 12-27.
Overall, Camperdown won two rinks but lost by 24 shots.
Next week Camperdown will play third-placed Cityon the carpet.
We are fifth and only five points away from fourth-placed Winchelsea so need to win.

The top four are Colac, Apollo Bay, City and Winchelsea, followed by Camperdown, Simpson, Central, Camperdown Golf, Cobden and Lorne.
Division three headed to Colac and played City 3.
Ron Absalom’s team had a tough battle and was defeated 15-22.
Les Pearson’s team gave their opposition a big start but fought hard to go down by eight, 13-21.
T. Hose’s rink also gave it all, only to go down by two shots, 19-21.
Michael Nixon’s rink started off well but went down 16-17.
Next week is a home game for Camperdown against fourth-placed Colac 3 and another must win.

The south-west 60 and over social pennant played its last game on Tuesday until the New Year.
Cobden Red lost to Timboon 26, Camperdown White 38 won in a close match against Cobden Black 35, Terang 21 lost to Mortlake 42 and Camperdown Black had the bye.
The ladder is Mortlake 63, Timboon 62, Camperdown Black 59, Cobden Black 57, Camperdown White 50, Cobden Red 42 and Terang 8.
Tonight (Friday) is the club’s annual Christmas dinner – don’t forget a sweet or salad our both; meat will be supplied.
The Christmas raffle will be drawn. Plenty of prizes to be won and lots of good times to be had.
