Tough round for Tigers
ROUND three of the Colac and District League proved a tough one for Simpson, with the Tigers going down by 68-points to Lorne.
The first half saw the home side pile on 10 goals six, giving them a handy 32-point lead going into the third quarter.
The Tigers fought hard in the third but were unable to add to their scoreboard while Lorne forged ahead with a further four goals.
The Tigers provided spectators with a more even final term, applying pressure over the ground and adding two goals, two behinds to the scoreboard while restricting the home sides scoring opportunity.
Final scores were Simpson 7.8.50 to Lorne 17.16.118.
Best for the Tigers were Jack Finn, Beau Clarke, Lochie Hawkins, Mitch Reed, Brenton De Jong and Addam Maric.
Goals went to Nicholas Harding (3), Jarrod Garth (2), Hawkins and Maric.
Earlier in the day, the Tigers’ reserves celebrated a 15-point win over Lorne, 8.5.53 to 4.14.38.
Best for the side were Jaryd Duynhoven, Darcy Leishman, Jayden Rooke, Sam Rial, Jason Kordupel and Brodie Neale.
Neale booted four goals for the day while Jayden Gass added two and Louis Duynhoven and Luke Ranno contributed one apiece.
Simpson’s A grade netballers worked hard all over the court but were unable to match it with Lorne on the scoreboard, going down 40-57.
Best for the Tigers were Jessie Harding, Chloe Woods and Sophie Cronin.

15 and under – Simpson lost to Lorne 25-39. Best: Anna Robb, Leah Godfrey and Tara Robertson.
13 and under – Simpson lost to Lorne 25-27. Best: Keisha McVilly, Grace Bowman and Milah Crole.
