Tough round for women
NESTLES proved too strong for Mortlake’s female cricketers last weekend.

Playing in front of a home crowd on the Mortlake College ground last Sunday, the Cats tried hard to contain the visitors, who finished the day on 4/162 after 25 overs.
Nestles’ captain Gabby Lenehan proved strong with the bat, retiring on 48 runs from 49 deliveries, while opener Rachel Sabo was also effective, retiring on 32 from 39 balls.
Mortlake’s Annalie Abbott was the best of the bowlers, taking 2-18 from four overs, while Letitia Howat 1-18 and Ella Jones 1-28 also scored wickets.
The Cats struggled to make any major inroads on the scoreboard, with Howat the only one to reach double figures, making 10 from 48 deliveries.
Round nine of the competition will see the Cats travel to Allansford tomorrow night (Friday) to take on the Gators.
