Tough, wet conditions for Demons

IT was a tough day in the wet at Davidson Oval on Saturday for Timboon’s senior foot-ballers, losing 10.9.69 to 1.6.12 against Old Collegians.

Timboon kicked their only goal in the first quarter and scores were level at quarter time before the home team asserted dominance, scoring nine goals to none in the final three quarters.

Tomas Lindquist, Jack McGlade and Ash Hunt were best for Timboon in the loss, with Mitchell Gristede kicking the lone goal for the Demons.

The loss sees Timboon drop to sixth place, four points out of the top five.

This week the Demons host third placed Russells Creek at the Timboon Recreation Reserve.

Timboon had a strong 13.8.86 to 4.2.26 win in the reserves football.

Bayley Kelly, Bailey Delaney and Lachlan Rosolin were the best for the Demons.

Delaney, Rosolin, Richard Couch, Drew Kordupel, Darcy Tribe and Tyler Thorburn all kicked two goals each for Timboon.

Timboon had a 9.10.64 to 2.4.16 win in the under 18s.

Will Moorhouse kicked six goals and was best for the Demons with Hugh Smith and Mitchell Plozza.

Old Collegians was too strong in the under 15 football, winning 4.5.29 to 1.5.11.

Ace Roberts, William Plozza and Casey Carlin were named as best for the Demons.

In the under 13s, Old Collegians prevailed 4.6.30 to 1.1.7.

Kaspar Hendrix, Jack McKenzie and Xavier McNeill were the best players for the junior Demons.

Old Collegians also got the points in a tight A grade netball encounter, scoring a 51-47 win.

Laura Rosolin scored 33 goals and Isabelle Moorhead 14 for Timboon, with Holly Kordupel, Delys Jones and Bethany Hallyburton best for Demons.

Timboon had a 56-35 win in the A reserve netball.

Best for Timboon were Giaan Gration, Mereanna Van Ginkel and Sophie Walsh, with Macey Gale scoring a match high 47 goals.

The B grade game saw Timboon have a 33-27 win.

Rachel Richardson, Elle Bryant and Charlotte Plozza were best for the Demons, with Nicole Burvill scoring 21 goals and Sarah Brown 12.

Top of the ladder Old Collegians had a strong win in the 17 and under netball, 54-27.

Evie Gordon scored 14 goals for the Demons, with Ruby Jones, Ellen Whiting and Willow Roberts named as Timboon’s best.

In the 15 and under match, Timboon had a narrow lead all day, recording a 17-16 win.

Asha Loughnan, Taya Hanegraaf and Emily McLennan were named as best for the Demons, with Aysha Hollick scoring nine goals.

In the 13 and under game, the top of the ladder Demons had a 20-4 win.

Stella Whitehead and Grace Richardson were the junior Demons best players, which saw Richardson top scoring with eight goals.
