Ladies were able to roam Manifold Street and catch up in various fashion stores over champagne and nibbles, while many stores ran sales during the event.

Organiser Kirsty Green, whose store Vintage Gnotuk was among the participating stores, said it was a “fabulous night” for all involved.

“There were lots of ladies about, and lots of groups of girlfriends about – everyone was catching up,” she said.

“I’ve spoken to Emily Blomfield (Here Home Style and Design), Kim McKenzie at Laffs and Sarah Venn at Little Pharmacy and Shoe Shop, and they were all really pleased with the amount of people we had out and about.

“That’s been our third year that we’ve done Fashions on Manifold.

“The weather hasn’t been kind to us any of the years – we’ve had a really hot one, we’ve had a really wet one, and Thursday night was quite good.”

Ms Green said plans have already started for next year’s event.

“We’ve had a few other local stores that are quite interested that want to join in that have small pieces of fashion,” she said.

“Hopefully we’ll have a few more on-board next year as well.

“I’d like to thank all the locals for supporting us.

“Small businesses are doing it tough at the minute, so we’re all trying to do things to try and encourage people to come and shop local.

“To have everyone come and support us was very overwhelming, and we’re grateful.”
