DUE to supply issues the Twelve Apostles Trail Project is expected to be completed in December now.
In a recent update on the project, Corangamite Shire Council said due to material supply issues, fabrication and installation of minor boardwalks, guardrail and fence in panels, the project is expected to be completed next month.
Contractors have been busy completing key parts in recent months including path construction east and west of the bridge, set out for kerb and channel on Lord Street, concreted path north of cantilever boardwalk and installed the abutments, footings and substructure for the cantilevered boardwalk.
Works still to be completed include:
• Install cantilevered boardwalk;
• Continue path and fencing construction on both sides of bridge;
• Concrete trail path works and drainage on west side of Lord Street including Wannon Water crossover;
• Installation of handrailing system on bridge;
• Set out and install abutments for other boardwalks; and
• Refit trail related road signs.
