Truck fails to give way, clips trailer

A MINOR incident on the corner of Manifold and Cressy Street in Camperdown has prompted a reminder for drivers to be mindful on the roads as the Christmas period approaches.

Camperdown Police were called to the incident at 2.02pm last Friday (November 15), with no injuries reported.

The Country Fire Authority also attended to assist in removing the damaged dirt-bike trailer from the road and clearing the debris.

Camperdown Police senior constable Zach Wilson said a truck allegedly failed to give way when merging into west-bound traffic, clipping the trailer.

He said police were urging drivers to take care on the roads as the Christmas holiday period approaches.

“Coming into the Christmas period just be mindful of your observations and drive safely,” Snr Const Wilson said.

“Adhere to the road rules.”
