Turf club gives generously
THE Camperdown Turf Club has recently made a donation to help those experiencing food insecurity and vulnerability.
The club made a $3000 donation to Western District Foodshare, which operates out of Warrnambool and services the Corangamite Shire.
Camperdown Turf Club president Anthony Finn said Western District Foodshare was a vital part of the community for those in need.
“There’s a lot of homeless people, people who can’t afford decent meals, and people falling on hard times,” he said.
“We’re honoured to be able to be in the position to give money to Foodshare.
“It’s something we hold dearly as a part of our fabric with the Camperdown Turf Club.
“We just thought, as a club we’ve worked hard, we’ve got money - so we can share it.”
Mr Finn said the club was “very honoured” and “very proud” to donate to the organisation.
